We figure that I might as well be in some really beautiful country where the cost of living is lower than it is here in New York. So we were thinking of perhaps moving to Fiji and we were looking at Fiji real estate on the Internet. I know it sounds really bizarre way out there, but I think we’re going to be a would make this work. I think first of all go and scout things out, working at the same time, and then my wife and our son come down perhaps a month later. That way I can have everything ready for them by the time they come. I think this would be a really nice move and I have a hunch that the environment will be more conducive to raising children in a country like Fiji.

Our First Trip to Asia
Thursday, July 14th, 2011My husband and I have been able to do a lot of traveling. We have seen almost every country in Central and South America. We have also been to Europe a couple of times. I really want to go to Asia and to Africa. My husband especially wants to see Asia and so we are planning a trip there. It is hard to decide where we should start. There are so many interesting sounding places in Asia and it is almost overwhelming to know where to go first. We both agreed that it would be fun to start in Thailand. We have had friends that have gone there and always tell us about their great experiences. We also always get e-mails that tell us about deals on Bangkok hotels and so we are thinking about flying to Bangkok and then traveling around Thailand for a couple of weeks. We don’t know if we will stay in Thailand from there or if we will visit other countries.

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011Cycling in Bolivia like Peru was another challenge due to altitude but I was getting pretty climatised to this and was not suffering sickness as others had experienced. Altitude cycling does mean I could eat loads and not gain weight. Bolivia is a beautiful country, some vast areas of dry land then vast areas of greenery. Huge steep inclines to cycle up and twisting roads meant it was both a physical and at times mental challenge. Perhaps even a spiritual one as I hoped that turns on these tentative roads didn’t bring me into disaster. I can only think of how many times the buses would toil up this road eroding at the edges which looked down over vast descents. I made attempts to stay clear from the edge knowing one day it would be one erosion too much and the road service would slip off and me with it.

Our Long-term Trip to Paris

Everyone is excited about the trip because we have decided that instead of taking 2 15 day vacations were going to take one vacation for a month. We are thinking that that will give us enough time to not only see all that France has to offer but also to visit some of the surrounding countries. After doing the calculations with the side of that is our best interest to try and find a fully furnished apartment that we can rent for our time in Paris. We are now searching the Internet for Paris shortstay apartments. We are optimistic about our chances of finding a apartment. We are told that if they are plentiful in Paris because there are many foreigners especially from the United States like to come and stay in Paris for more than a month.
