I called the Raleigh plumber today, and they were able to come out to my home on an emergency call. I hate it when we have gigantic plumbing problems, but I definitely think that it is worth it to have a good plumber on hand. I saw that my wall was getting wet, and I knew that this was going to be bigger than I had intended for it to be. Sometimes I just feel like these problems really let me down as a homeowner. We purchased an older dwelling because it was cheaper for us to do so. I guess that there were some unexpected things that happened, and I hated the fact that I had to deal with them. What matters to me the most right now is the fact that I can keep the house from falling apart. I don’t know when the plumber will have to come out again, but I hope it is not soon.

One time when my husband and I went on vacation, we left our teenage son in our home. We told him that he can bring friends over for company. It wasn’t a problem and since he was a well-behaved boy we trusted him completely. After we came back, we saw that the house was neater than it used to be and we thought that our son had just cleaned up out of boredom. However, a few days later, I noticed that there was a huge damage on two of our interior doors that weren’t there before. I asked my son if he knew anything about it but he said that it must have been there long before and we just didn’t notice it. The next day, I saw one of my neighbours and after sharing some pleasantries that felt one-sided he told me that last weekend they weren’t able to sleep properly because of the noise. It finally dawned on me that my son threw a party and I confronted him and said that we will replace the damaged interior doors using his allowance.

During the off seasons when the pool isn’t being used, I often enjoy my above ground swimming pool fence. I feel like it is such a blessing to keep the kids out of the pool when we are trying to have a party. They love to run around and be mischievous with their friends. It is so much better when we don’t have to deal with something like kids falling into the pool or people getting thrown into the pool. It really isn’t something that we want to do, and I guess that it is just an important part of my life to pay attention to what I need to do with my home in order to keep it safe. I don’t want everyone who come to my party to have to yell at their kids to stay away from the pool, because that would make me feel like a bad homeowner.
