This morning I saw this wonderful ad in a magazine for a place called broadway tickets nyc. It is for this place that sells these really deep discount tickets to plenty of broadway shows, and they arrange all kinds of travel arrangements and stuff as well. For example, if you wanted to book an airline flight, and a hotel, they could arrange everything. They even offer tours of the city, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Not only that, but they also provide curb service to the airport and back in your home town, so that all you have to do is call them, arrange the trip, and away you go. I called to see how much it was, and while it wasn’t cheap, it wasn’t completely out of the question. I think I’m going to have to start saving my money if I want to get some of those tickets, because I really do want to go. I wonder if my wife would want to go as well. Maybe I should ask her. She seems to like things like this, so I think we could have a pretty good trip.

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010Theater rentals Los Angeles – Ok, so you have an important event and that you need to rent a theater for. In addition to the size of stage as well as the equipment used, here are other things to consider when looking for a theater to rent: One, does the theater have ample parking space for guests? Parking is important because not all guests have drivers and chauffeurs. A lot of guests prefer to drive themselves so it would be convenient if the chosen theater has its own parking area. Second, does the theater offer specialized services that would make things a lot easier for you, the event organizer. Does the theater offer professional technical support? Catering assistance? Good telephone and data communications? In-house security? Consider these things because they just might spell out the difference between smashing success and total failure. If budget is an issue, there are also theaters that offer community rates so be sure to check before you decide.
Cold Reading at Acting Classes Los Angeles
Friday, October 29th, 2010An actor, when he or she goes for an audition or is getting ready to perform, has spent hours and hours going over a script in order to say it from the heart, word for word. It takes a lot of determination and hard work to be able to learn a script, and especially to imply all the emotions and connotations that come with using your voice and body to express words. This is something you learn at acting schools in Los Angeles.
However, cold reading is the act of reading from a script that the actor has never seen before. It makes it a lot harder in that you, as an actor, don’t know how to perform essentially. You don’t know what words to emphasise, how to read the script, how to move your body in accordance to the words written on the page – but it does make for a much thorough audition and allows the people judging you to see your versatility and adaptation to change.
By the rulebook, a cold reading script should be given to you 24 hours in advance, but this almost never happens. You have to train yourself to act from a script you’ve never seen before, and you can only do this with sheer determination and force. Start off easy by picking up a script you’ve never seen and memorizing the first line as soon as you see it, then recite it back to yourself. As you grow, you’ll be able to commit more of the script to your memory just from seeing it, and cold reading won’t be such a frightful experience any more the more you get used to it.
